Thanks to Absurd Art House for selecting my short poetry film “Then Came the Firestorm” for the first-ever Absurd Art House Film Festival, taking place on October 23 at the Criterion Music Hall Theatre in Blue Town. That’s right, this coming Saturday, if you happen to find yourself in Sheerness (Kent, UK), head on over to the lovely theatre on High Street for an all-day lineup of absurd films (including mine).
Live at the Roxie
Thanks to SF IndieFest for selecting “Then Came the Firestorm” for the 2021 San Francisco Independent Short Film Festival. What a huge honor to see my film screened at the Roxie Theater – a movie house I’ve been visiting since the beginning of time! (Well, at least since 1978 or thereabouts.)

Live Album: Available Now!
In March, I had to cancel a house concert due to the COVID-19 shutdown. Not knowing when I’d play another show, I decided to record a live album. So, here it is. Just me and my guitar. Playing the songs as you would have heard them at the concert that never was.
Album available now on BandCamp — listen free or pay what you want.

This One Time at Music Camp
Well, I never thought I’d get to play a song for Shawn Colvin, but that’s exactly what happened at the Frets and Refrains music camp.
After saying “prepare to be slaughtered” as I made my way to the hot seat, Shawn was super charitable in her feedback — as were my fellow classmates.
Other camp highlights included contributing a new jingle (“Welcome to the Chernobyl Big Top”) to a new eco-disaster-themed concept album and performing “Celluloid Dream,” “Don’t Forget to Pack Your Hand Grenade,” “Speak Your Mind,” “Nobody But You,” and “Trigger Finger” for various workshops and audiences.
All in all, a very good time in the Catskills.
Rock the Retirement
June 27, 2019. Athletic Club. Oakland, California. A top-secret operation was set in motion for a small group of musicians to surprise Mambo PC at his retirement party. Congratulations to the man of the hour for 29 years on the job … and for remembering the lyrics to all the songs.
