“Chernobyl” Hits the Road

People around the world are checking out my “Chernobyl” animated music video. It’s even earned a few laurels along the way, including in Rome, London, Prague, Munich, India, and Slovakia. I wonder where it’ll blow up next. Haven’t seen the video yet? Put on your hazmat suit and watch it here (password = blast).

Gratitude

Very humbled and grateful to receive these generous comments from a reader in Spain:

“I bought your latest book on my Kindle and read it this week. Here’s what I discovered: you are a great writer with a highly developed imagination who has the extraordinary talent of being able to inhabit a plethora of distinct perspectives. You not only write from different viewpoints, but your stories take the reader on a roller coaster of emotion. You cannot be pigeonholed!”

Music Video Winner !!!

I’m happy to announce that “Chernobyl” has been named winner of the Music Video category in May from Cult Critic Movie Awards in Kolkata, India.

Haven’t seen my short film yet? You can watch it here (password = blast).

“Chernobyl” was inspired by my travels in Europe in 1986. I was visiting a distant relative in Hamburg at the time. Though we were 800 miles away, I remember the fear as we watched the weather patterns on the news (are those clouds coming from the reactor?) and avoided fresh produce that might have been tainted by the blast. Hard to imagine it’s now a tourist attraction.

Lunch Is Served.

It’s May 4th and I’m excited to announce that “Lunch with the Alien and Other Short, Short Stories” officially hits the market TODAY. No, the book doesn’t have anything to do with a galaxy far, far away, but May the Fourth be with this action-packed page-turner anyway.

You can pick up a copy online. Or order it from your favorite local bookseller. Just be on the lookout for the funky, well-coiffed alien on the cover.

New Interview – Lunch with the Alien: Greg Roensch’s Digestible Tales

Thanks to Lois Lane for asking a few questions about my new book.

Here’s an excerpt from my response to a question about whether my extensive experience as a writer in the gaming industry has influenced my short story writing:

“Working on such an amazing range of games helped shape my interest in writing short stories in different genres and styles. In Lunch with the Alien and Other Short, Short Stories, for example, I include a few science-fiction stories, a few horror stories, a few crime-gone-wrong stories — and even a love story or two. And, yes, there are stories where aliens try to rip your guts out.”

Check out the entire interview here. And thanks again to Lois Lane.

The countdown is on.

Lunch with the Alien and Other Short, Short Stories is coming out one month from today, on May the Fourth – because as much as I love Wookiees, Droids, and Skywalkers I want my little book to compete head-to-head with the entire Star Wars universe. May the Force be with the little book with the well-coiffed alien on the cover.

Pre-Order available now on Bookshop.org, Amazon.com, or your favorite online bookshop.

New Book Alert: Lunch with the Alien

Stay tuned for further details.

He Runs: World Premiere

Honored & Humbled. My short, short animated film “He Runs” is an official selection at the Halifax Black Film Festival … thank you to the organizers. And huge thanks to everyone who played a part in the movie (including Andrew Dixon for the inspired soundtrack).

Check out the festival online (Feb 23 – 28).

Sometimes I Can Be Funny

Thanks to the 2020 Soul-Making Keats Literary Competition for the Honorable Mention in the Humor Category for my short, short story “Shut Up and Write.”

I’m currently searching for a nice home for this little story. Hopefully it’ll land a spot soon. We don’t need a twelve-room mansion or anything like that – a sweet little two-bed, two-bath apartment with a small balcony overlooking a park or a river (or the Mediterranean) would be just fine.

More short, short story news coming soon!!!
